History of voleyball
In 1895, William Morgan invented volleyball in the U.S where he was the director of Physical Education at YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association).
He basically invented it for his businessmen as a form of entertainment that was competitive and enjoyable, but not as physically aggressive as basketball or other sports. At that time it was called mintonette.
The game took some of its characteristics from tennis and handball. Another indoor sport, basketball, was catching on in the area, having been invented sixtenn km awat formthe city of Pringfield, Massachusets. During a demonstration game, they observed players seemd to be volleying the ball back and forth over the net and perhaps "volleyball"would be a much more descriptive name for the sport than mintonette.
The first country outside the United States to adopt volleyball was Canada in 1900. An international federation, Federation International of Volleyball (FIVB) was founded. The sport is now popular in Brazil, in Europe (specially Italy, the Netherlands, and countries from Eastern Europe have been major forces since the late 1980s), in Russia, and in other countries including China and the rest of Asia, as well as in the United States.
Beach volleyball was also added to the Olympics program. It was mainly played with two players and in the sand. The history of Olympic volleyball traces back to the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, where volleyball was played as part of an American sports demonstration event.
The sport in Brazil
Volleyball was a sport little appreciation in Brazil until the 80, besides carrying the connotation that it was a sport "for girls" while football would practice "the boys". Observing the technical movements of this sport, then it follows that they just approach feminine gestures. But this brand of volleyball did not arise at random: it was born as a result of a manifestation of little professionalism by teachers of Physical Education: instead of structuring a lesson and work in earnest with his students, is still quite common for teachers deem a volleyball for girls and soccer for boys. This not only relates to discipline the moments that formal education was divided between the sexes, but also contributes to the prejudice in relation to physical activities.
However, this profile had considerable change when the Olympic Games Los Angeles in 1984, the men's Brazilian volleyball won second place in the competition. The team, which had Bebeto de Freitas as coach, was composed of: William, Xandó, Renan, Badalhoca, Montanaro, Rezende, Amauri and Bernard, the player who created the drawing style known as "Star Trek."
The silver medal allowed the volleyball visibility never before seen in Brazil. At that time, many people, of both sexes, have turned to the practice of volleyball, reflecting in many achievements of male and female teams.
Currently part of the men's volleyball team: coach Bernardo Rezende and Bruno athletes, Dante, Eder, Giba, John Paul, John Bravo, Leandro, Lucas, Mario, Marlon, Murilo, Rodrigão, Sidão, Theo and Thiago Alves.

Movements Drawing: It is the movement that begins the match. To do so, a player must stand behind the back of his field and must make it through the network line. If the players can’t get the ball and it touches the ground is marked point and the team that drew at first has the right to serve again.
· Pass: It is the common motion reception of the ball. It can be done anywhere in the field. One of the main ways to pass is the headline. In it, the player joins hands and apply a small force when the ball comes to him. The main aim of this foundation is in addition to prevent the ball touch the ground, hand the ball in good condition to the lifter.
· Survey: It is usually the second contact that a team has the ball. After being received with a pass, a player delivery to another, and this called, that moment, lifter. · Attack: This is the last contact the team with the ball before sending it to the enemy camp. To do so, it is recommended that the play is as close to the net, take a leap and design your body forward so that your weight can be "transferred" to the ball. The aim of this foundation is to send the ball to the opponent field in an attempt that it can’t be received by the other team and touch the ground.
· Block: It is a possible form of defense, as well as the pass, after an attack. In it, one or more players jump while the attacker's opponent and try with palms hit the ball so that it returns to the opposing field.
Rotation
The players' positions are numbered in the following manner as shown above: the three players that are in proximity to the network form the line of attack and occupy positions 4 , 3 and 2. The other three players occupy positions 5 , 6 and 1 .
After the serve, players can move around and occupy any position on their own court and the free zone . A lack of positioning leads to point loss.
When the team wins the right to serve , its players perform the so-called rotation , advancing one position clockwise . The player in position 2 rotates to position 1 , and he will be the server . The player position 1 goes to position 6 , and so on.
The first game
