The objective of the game is to score points. This occurs when the opponent sends the ball off the table.

The ball may hit only once on each side of the table. In the start of the game, the ball must touch once in each side. If it does not, the player who started gives a point to the opponent. The player wins when he won 3 sets (in matches of 5 sets) or 4 (in matches of 7 sets). Each set is composed of 11 points. When there is a tie at 10 points, wins who put two points ahead of the opponent.

In addition to the table and the net, the other equipment needed to practice this sport are the ball and rackets. The ball is made of celluloid or plastic and should be 40 mm diameter. The racket is made of wood and part of the racket that hits the ball is covered by rubber
