History

Before being played with rackets, tennis has its origins in modalities disputed in antiquity only with the palm of the hands. There are records of games played with only one ball and hands from Ancient Egypt to Europe century 5. A more similar version to the modern tennis emerged in the 12th century in Italy and France, where monks practiced something similar in enclosed courtyards delimiting the game space.
During the long years of the tennis came through several changes to get the rules we know today.
Tennis debuted at the first edition of the Olympic games in 1896 in Athens. Until 1924 Olympic titles were basically dominated by French and American British.
In Amsterdam 1928, the sport was not part of the Olympic program and only returned in Seoul

Rules

It can be played both in open courts and in closed courts, and can be practiced by both men and women, and these geralmentes divided into age categories. The teams may be constituted by a player or a pair of players, can be mixed double. The tennis points marking system subdivides the game in games and sets. A game consists of a set of points, and these made by counting 15, 30, 40 and game. A set, in turn, is a collection of games, with the count made by 1,2,3,4,5 and September
The player or pair who makes the first service is chosen through a draw. A game is won by a team when that team get 6 games, with at least 2 games ahead of the opposing team. In this tie, the player wins the set to win 7 points with two-point advantage over the opponent. The winning team is the one who first reach the number of pre-defined sets.

Currently Roger Federer is one of the largest players currently known to have won big games and be one of the best-paid tennis players of today.
We can not forget Steffi Graf with a series of 35 vitórias- five months - even without losing a match, Graf arrived as the favorite and went down in history of the sport.
