Los Angeles History

The city was founded on September 4, 1781, on behalf of the Spanish crown, the Spanish Governor Don Felipe de Neve, he named the region as "El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles del Río de Porciúncula" kwown as the Town of Our Lady Queen of the Porciúncula, given the circumstances of that place, near by the Porciúncula River.

 Los Angeles became part of Mexico in 1821, after its independence from Spain. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican-American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, becoming part of the United States, Mexico retained the territory of Baja California. Mexico retained the territory of Baja California. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California has become a state of the United States.

·         Angelus Temple is the international headquarters of the Foursquare Gospel Church. The construction took place in 1922, and the temple consecrated in 1923 by evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson founded in Echo Park in Los Angeles.

·         The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels also known as Los Angeles Cathedral. It is one of the major Christian churches in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles in California, and one of the most remarkable cathedrals in the United States, located in so-called Downtown Los Angeles. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and thus holds the chair of the archbishop.
The Cathedral of Los Angeles has a historical significance for the locals because    it was built to replace the Cathedral of St. Vibiana, severely damaged after the earthquake of Northridge



·         US Bank Tower is one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world, with 310 meters. Built in the city of Los Angeles in California, USA, it was completed in 1989 with 73 floors.

·       








































  The Hollywood sign is a tourist spot located in Mount Lee in Hollywood.O marquee was erected to sell houses in a condominium. The initial idea was that he stayed there for a year and a half, but became a symbol of the city. Facing south, it extends over a range of almost 570 meters that separates Hollywood and much of Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley to the north.
